Are Nissan Patrols reliable for long road trips?

I have been planning a road trip across the country and I am considering renting a Nissan Patrol. I have heard mixed reviews about its reliability. Has anyone had experience taking this vehicle on long road trips? I want to make sure I won't have any major issues.
