Is the Nissan X-Trail a reliable car for long family road trips?

My family and I enjoy going on road trips, but our previous car broke down on our last trip. I'm thinking of buying a Nissan X-Trail for our next trip, but I'm not sure if it's reliable enough for long journeys with my family. Any advice?
